A Styles Assessment used in "Communicating For Success" Workshops
Three Key Organizational Applications:

The greatest problem in communication is the illusion that it has been accomplished.
Everyone communicates … through words, gestures, body language. But whether or not the “receiver” understands what the “sender” meant to say, is not just a matter of what was said, but how and why! This can make people interactions quite complex – even frustrating. So it is really no surprise when misunderstandings arise and conflicts occur. Two individuals have simply “misunderstood” each other, misinterpreting the other’s intent.
In the work-place, conflicting communication styles can impact quality, slow productivity, undermine harmony, and at times, hurt integrity. Whether instructions weren’t adequate, the other person didn’t come across right, or someone neglected to mention an important detail, organizations and relationships suffer when communication is not clear.
By performing CSP communication styles assessments managers can help their teams become more aware of their individual communication style and how it is perceived by others. With greater understanding of individual communication styles – employees will learn how to effectively communicate with each other.
The Communicating for Success Program begins with an accurate and reliable assessment of key characteristics which underlie individual styles of communication. Building on the insights gained from this profile, participants then engage in a 1-day interactive workshop to discover:
- how their Style communicates most effectively, and the differences between their communication Style and the other communication Styles,
- how others respond to their communication Style, and
- how they can work with the communication Styles of others,
These insights help to remove the stress from key interactions and enhance relationships.
By the conclusion of the workshop, individuals identify several “next-day” strategies to implement with the people they relate to on a regular basis in their own departments or teams. With a clearer understanding of their colleagues', clients’, or customers’ mindset and motivation, along with helpful guidelines for relating more effectively, smoother interactions (even bridge “re-building”) can begin immediately.
To make these strategies most practical, these learning sessions are focused on 1 of 3 application areas - depending on the area in which your organization needs to place the greatest emphasis.
