What is Behavioral Analysis?

The foundation of behavioral analysis is based on a simply theory: behavior is predictable. That doesn’t mean one individual can totally predict how another person will always behave – no one can do that. Here are some illustrations of what we mean . . .

Have you ever noticed the co-worker that comes in every Monday, hardly says hello to anyone, and immediately heads to their cubicle? Would you call that behavior predictable? Now imagine if that same person comes in one Monday, stops by your desk and goes into great depths telling you all about their weekend and also wants to know all about yours . . . and then wants to join you for lunch. Doesn’t happen very often, if ever.

Think of the manager you’ve promoted in the past who went from a high performer to a medium level performer, on a good day. Recall how the person worked harder and longer but the work still wasn’t getting done in his area due to that person’s need to be “hands-on”. Would you have made the same decision if you’d been able to predict this behavior through an analysis before the promotion?

Behavioral analysis is the process of assessing and defining an individual’s natural orientations, predispositions, and motivational factors.

Effectively Utilizing Behavioral Analysis Profiles

This is of great interest and value to organizations whose managers and human resource professionals are continuously trying to improve their ability to get “the right person in the right job”. Managers, particularly, are focused on learning more about the strengths, weaknesses and potential of their staff.

Today’s organizations are seeking more sophisticated and robust assessment processes to help them quickly and accurately develop key insights into an individual’s temperament that will help in finalizing a recruitment, selection or promotion decision that works just as well for the employee as it does for the employer.

The PPS (Pro.file Performance System) is a validated suite of psychological instruments that are specifically designed to help organizations identify the key traits/characteristics they need for any role in their organization; measure the same traits in candidates or employees; and compare the “fit” to understand the likelihood of performance success in the position.
